Vincigliata Castle, Castel di Poggio, Settignano
This is a very easy short tour. The 70% is on asphalt and the rest is simple off road as you can see from the pictures. There are no signle track or technical downhill. During this tour you can see small old churches and castle like Vincigliata castel and Castel di Poggio. You start from via Gabriele D’annunzio and turn left on the steep but short climp towards Maiano. Just follow the signs to Maiano and then Maiano Caves (Cave di Maiano). Before the caves you will find a steep climb of 10 / 20 meters and a small church on your right, after 200 meters you will see an off road path going down on you right. You will see the signs to PARCO AVVENTURA follow those sign untill you reach the park (parco avventura) continue straight till you reach the asphalt road. You will see the Vincigliata Castle right in front of you. Continue you climb with you MTB passing by the nice Vincigliata village from which you can see Monte Ceceri (Da Vinci tried to fly from that mountain). When you reach the very top of the climb follow the signs to Settignano (where great poet, Gabriele D’annunzio was born). You can go down to Florence passing by the Settignano village, following the signs, or cycling down on this tiny small asphalt raad following the gpx track.
